It was one year ago today that I moved into my studio flat in downtown Cape Girardeau - it seems like almost yesterday. Time does fly the older you get.

Cape and the Civil War

Since moving to Cape Girardeau earlier this year, I have learned quite a bit about both the city and the state of Missouri's history, specifically the Civil War.

I love these homes in downtown Cape Girardeau and their celebration of Independence Day with the red, white and blue.

Memorial Day is when Americans honor and pay tribute to the men and women who died in battle for our freedoms. As I sit here writing - with no censorship, no interference, no thought police -
