Memorial Day is when Americans honor and pay tribute to the men and women who died in battle for our freedoms.  As I sit here writing   - with no censorship, no interference, no thought police - I need to remind myself daily, not just once a year, of these brave men and women. They sacrificed their lives, the ultimate price, so I can freely express myself not only in my writing, but in my freedom of speech.

While riding my bike over the weekend, I couldn't help but notice Old Glory flying everywhere - homes, churches, businesses and parks.
It's nice to live in a community that loves displaying the red, white, and blue.

Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave..
