I moved to Cape Girardeau, Missouri, in April 2018, after living in Washington, D.C. for many years. This is my online journal capturing photographs and life in this beautiful river city.

I find flea markets interesting for the simple reason that you can find just about anything at one of these outdoor swap meets - fun stuff, junk stuff, cool stuff, who in the hell would buy that stuff, and someone's treasure stuff.
Farm-fresh local produce, the aroma of delicious food, the freshness of spring flowers and plants, and local live music = a nice outdoor market. The Cape Riverfront Market hits the mark on all counts.
If you love house-made pasta tossed with the perfect sauce, fresh parmigiano-reggiano and a nice glass of red, then Gabriel's Food + Wine is the place in downtown Cape Girardeau.
I love baseball - watching it on TV, listening to it on the radio, and especially watching it at the ballpark. I've been living in Cape for almost three weeks and have went to a few games at Capaha Field.
I decided to use the vast resource of consignment shops, thrift and antique stores that populate downtown Cape to help furnish my new flat. At the top of my list was finding the perfect table/desk to do my writing on.
I love how the colors in downtown Cape shine through on this second day of rain - especially all the green. I wonder how many folks stop and enjoy God's beauty - or just complain about the rain?
I came across this Model-T that was parked on Main Street last Saturday. It was definitely a beautiful day for a ride with the top down. And across the street was another classic.
Just outside the Common Pleas Courthouse sits a park bench that overlooks downtown Cape Girardeau (the locals just say “Cape”). During my brief stay on the Cape last summer, this was where I would start my day.
