I love walking in downtown Cape listening to music, especially when the music syncs up nicely with my surroundings. My iPod was on shuffle mode and the song "Autumn Leaves" started playing. As I walked with Eva Cassidy singing "The falling leaves.." through my earbuds, I knew the autumn trees were in their final days as they prepare for the winter winds. It was a poignant, but hopeful moment - I think I listened to the song at least ten times as I walked and took photographs of the beautiful autumn landscape. And if you have never heard Eva Cassidy's voice, you should check her out. Click here for one of her last performances at Blues Alley in Washington D.C. before she passed at the young age of 33 - a voice of an angel.
Another day in life is never promised - embrace the 'right now' and create moments like I did with my camera, some beautiful music and the colorful autumn leaves. Created within a mile from my home.
Autumn Leaves
The falling leaves drift by the window, the autumn leaves of red and gold.
I see your lips, the summer kisses, the sunburned hands I used to hold.
Since you went away the days grow long and soon I'll hear old winter's song.
But I miss you most of all my darling, when autumn leaves start to fall.
